Radon Testing

As a seller, the Surgeon General, EPA, and World Health Organization recommend that you test your home for radon before putting it on the market.

And if you are a buyer, you should always have your new home tested, even if there is an active radon mitigation system in place. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers, and the second-leading cause of lung cancer for the general population.

It is vital that you have your home fixed in the event that radon levels are confirmed to be four picocuries per liter (pCi/L) or higher. Radon levels less than 4 pCi/L still pose a risk. But in many cases, these levels can be reduced. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer is exponentially higher.
